Iatan – Nashua 345kV Transmission Line
The 345-kV Iatan-Nashua line runs 29.85 miles from Iatan Station near Weston, Missouri, to the Nashua station near Smithville. Transource Missouri completed construction and put the line into service in April 2015, three months ahead of schedule.
The Iatan-Nashua Project was designated by the SPP as a Balanced Portfolio project. These projects were developed to provide benefits to the regional electricity grid by delivering reduced production costs, increasing reliability, lowering required reserve margins, deferring reliability upgrades, and providing environmental benefits due to more efficient operation of assets and greater utilization of renewable resources.
