Matthewson - Redbud Project

Transource is developing the Mathewson-Redbud Project, a new electric transmission line that will significantly improve service for customers in Oklahoma. This project, awarded by the Southwest Power Pool (SPP), aims to relieve congestion on the grid and facilitate the transfer of renewable energy from western to eastern Oklahoma, improving the reliability to customers.

Key Highlights of the Mathewson-Redbud Project:

  • New Transmission Line: Transource is constructing approximately 40 miles of a 345 kilovolt (kV) electric transmission line. This line will connect the Mathewson Substation to the Redbud Substation, both operated by Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E).
  • Investment in Infrastructure: With an investment of approximately $72 million, this project is set to enhance critical infrastructure and support the growing energy needs of the region.
  • Projected Timeline: The new transmission line is expected to be in service in 2027.
